Ammonite Fossil
This is a beautiful highly polished agatized ammonite fossil (Cleoniceras) from Madagascar, It is 4 1/2 inches wide and 4 inches in height. This fossil shell design is a great example of the sacred Fibonacci Sequence found in the growth structure of many plants and animals,
On a metaphysical level spirals are usually symbolic of the eternal journey of personal exploration and growth throughout time,
The term ammonite is derived from the ancient Egyptian diety Amun (also Amon, Amon Ra. Ammon, Amen) due to the curved ram horn like appearance of these fossils being similar to the common depiction of Amon-Ra having rams horns on his head. Later in history Zeus was associated with Amon-Ra and was depicted having ram horns.
